Some of our clients
A sales hire fails when the role wasn’t properly understood — not when the candidate was wrong. The brief was vague. The recruiter didn’t know the market. The hiring manager didn’t have time to explain the commercial reality. Three or four weeks later, a shortlist arrives that doesn’t quite fit. Someone gets hired anyway. Six months later, they’re gone.
We work to break that pattern. Before we approach the market, we understand how your business sells — your customers, your route to market, your sales cycle, your existing team. The shortlist follows from that, not the other way round.
Our consultants have spent years inside the markets we recruit for. The sectors we know deepest are construction and building products, industrial and manufacturing, technical and B2B technology, electrical and lighting, and FMCG.
Each one has its own commercial dynamics. The skills that win in specification sales into a merchant don’t transfer cleanly to capital equipment sales into a manufacturing buyer. We brief every search around the actual mechanics of how your business sells, not a generic sales template.
We recruit at every level of commercial sales, from individual contributors to commercial leadership. Most of our placements sit in:
If your role isn’t on the list, it doesn’t mean we can’t help. Get in touch and we’ll tell you straight whether it fits our specialism.

Contingent search
Pay only on placement. Best for non-urgent roles where you want to test the market.
Retained search
Staged fee for senior, hard-to-fill or business-critical roles. Includes deeper market mapping and direct headhunting.
Exclusive search
Discounted fee in exchange for working with us only. A middle ground for roles where you want focused attention without the full retainer commitment.
Why use a specialist sales recruiter instead of a generalist?
A generalist fills a job spec. Sales hires fail when the role itself is misunderstood, so every search here starts with how your business sells – your customers, route to market and sales cycle – led by a senior consultant, before we ever approach the market.
Which sales roles do you recruit?
Business Development Managers, field and territory sales, Account Managers and Key/National Account Managers, specification and technical sales engineers, category, channel and bid specialists, and sales leadership through to Sales Director and Commercial Director.
Which industries do you cover?
Nine specialist sectors: construction, engineering, industrial and manufacturing, energy and renewables, technology and SaaS, FMCG, healthcare and MedTech, logistics and B2B sales.
How long does a sales search take?
It depends on the seniority of the role and the scarcity of the skill set, so we agree a realistic timeline at the briefing call. Every candidate is interviewed by us before you see them, and shortlists are deliberately short – usually three or four people who genuinely fit.
What is the SRUK Fit Score?
Every shortlisted candidate arrives as a standardised SRUK CV with a Fit Score – an assessment against six dimensions specific to your brief, weighted to what the role actually needs – so you can compare candidates like-for-like in thirty seconds.
Where do you recruit?
The length of the UK and across the Republic of Ireland, with teams in Glasgow, Manchester and Birmingham and dedicated services in cities including Leeds, Liverpool, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Bristol.
