The Brief

PayProp had been working with another recruiter and was not satisfied with the performance. They approached Sales Recruit UK to fill three Business Development Manager roles covering Scotland, London and the North West, as part of a wider sales team expansion supporting their UK growth. The brief was for genuine new-business hunters with the consultative skill to handle SME buyers and the credibility to handle a FinTech-adjacent sale.

The Challenge

The PayProp sale is not straightforward. Candidates needed clean credit backgrounds because the role involves sensitive financial information. Letting agency principals are shrewd, cash-sensitive SME owners who are skeptical of paying for a SaaS subscription they have not previously used. The role required consultative, new-business-orientated salespeople who could land long-term trust quickly, navigate FinTech-style compliance conversations, and still hit aggressive new-business activity targets.

What Sales Recruit UK Did

Sales Recruit UK ran targeted searches in each of the three territories, drawing on the SaaS, FinTech and PropTech sales markets for candidates who already understood subscription-led consultative sales into SME buyers.
