| Job Title | Trade Counter Assistant – Hillington |
| Location | Glasgow |
| Package | £28,000–£30,000 | Full training | Genuine route into sales |
| Sector | Construction, Distribution |
Our client is a growing distribution business expanding fast in the KBB sector — kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms. It’s one of the most attractive corners of the trade supply world: tangible products, a market that never stops, and trade customers who buy week in, week out. The business itself is down to earth and hands-on — no corporate gloss, a small team that backs each other — and because it’s growing, it needs experienced counter people it can pay properly and develop quickly.
You’ll be the face of the Hillington branch. Professional trade customers — bathroom installers, fitters, building trades — come through the door all day, and your job is to serve them well enough that they keep coming back: pricing orders, answering questions, solving problems on the spot, and learning the KBB range until regulars ask for you by name. It’s the counter craft you already have, applied to a better sector — busy, sociable, practical work where the relationships are the whole game.
You’re working a trade counter now — and where is wide open: Screwfix, B&Q, MKM, a builders’ or plumbers’ merchant, any trade desk. You know how to keep a queue moving, look after a regular, and stay sharp when it’s flat out. You’re reliable, grounded, good with people — and you’ve probably clocked that where you are, the money’s capped and the ladder’s short. This is the counter job for the person who wants more from the same skills.
£28,000–£30,000 depending on experience — a genuine step up on most counter wages — with full KBB product training from day one. And the part that matters most: a proven path upward. In this business, the people on the counter today become the field salespeople and branch leaders as it grows. Same craft, better sector, real ladder.
