| Job Title | Internal Sales Team Leader – Building Materials |
| Location | East Scotland, Edinburgh |
| Package | £37,000 basic + £10,000 annual bonus | Greater Edinburgh | Flexible hours, Monday to Friday |
| Sector | Construction, Distribution |
A multi-brand construction distribution group with real scale, multiple business units, and a culture of developing its own people. Progression here isn’t a line in a job advert — it’s how the business actually staffs its senior roles. The Edinburgh operation is an established, well-run business unit with ambitious plans for its sales function.
This is your first leadership role — designed for someone who wants to lead by example rather than step away from selling. Around 70% of your time is your own account portfolio — developing relationships, winning new business, making commercial decisions. The rest is spent developing a team of 3–4 internal sales professionals: coaching, supporting, and setting the standard.
The sales team is midway through an exciting shift — building new account acquisition alongside a well-established base of existing business. Your job is to be the proof that it works: opening doors, growing accounts, and showing the team what proactive selling looks like in practice.
You’ll carry genuine authority. Pricing and commercial decisions sit with you, and when the manager is out of the business, you’re the one the team looks to.
You’re currently an internal sales executive or internal account manager in construction, merchant or trade distribution — and you’ve outgrown the role you’re in. You develop accounts rather than administer them. You get energy from winning new business. And you’ve probably already found yourself informally leading the people around you.
This is the role that makes it official — with the scope, the authority and the earnings to match.
£37k base plus an annual profit sharing bonus worth circa £10k — a total package up to £47k. You choose your working pattern: 8–5 or 7:30–4:30, Monday to Friday, from a well-connected Edinburgh base.
Beyond that, a realistic route into field sales within a group that promotes from within. Internal sales professionals here become field account managers and territory managers — because the group is big enough to make it happen.
