| Sector | Cyber Security |
A privately owned UK cyber security business — one of the fastest-growing and most respected independent operators in the sector. They protect organisations across government, financial services, defence, healthcare, energy and industry against cyber attacks, and they hold the kind of accreditations that open doors most competitors can’t reach.
Cyber security is one of the most lucrative and future-proof specialisms in UK B2B sales. The threat keeps growing, regulation keeps tightening, and organisations are spending more every year — much of it on ongoing, subscription-based services that make this a stable, expanding market. Senior salespeople in this sector earn exceptionally well, and demand for good people consistently outstrips supply.
What makes this client different is their approach to talent. Most cyber security businesses only recruit people who already work in the sector, which makes it a closed shop for outsiders. This client deliberately develops its own. They’ve built a structured training programme — covering both sales skill and cyber knowledge from the ground up — specifically to bring in people from outside the industry and turn them into credible, high-earning sellers. You don’t need a technical background. You need the right attributes and the drive to learn.
You’re good at what you do. You’re organised, you read people quickly, and senior people listen to you when you talk. You may already have a year or two of sales behind you, or you may simply have the raw attributes and the determination to build a serious career. Either way, this is a rare route into a sector that’s normally shut to newcomers.
As a Cyber Security Sales Development Representative, your job is to start conversations. You’ll be reaching out to senior decision-makers — IT Directors, Heads of Security and Chief Information Officers — by phone, LinkedIn and email, with the goal of booking qualified meetings for the experienced sales team. You won’t be expected to close deals or be a technical expert from day one.
You’ll book the meeting, then stay involved and sit in alongside the senior salesperson while they take it forward — which is exactly how you learn to become one yourself. After an initial period as an SDR, you progress into a full Account Executive seat with your own accounts, and from there into senior and enterprise sales as fast as your performance allows.
You’ll be supported by a structured training platform covering company knowledge, product knowledge, sales methodology, objection handling and live role play. You’re not handed a script and pointed at a phone. You’re invested in.
Someone who can hold a conversation with a senior decision-maker on the phone and earn their attention in the first thirty seconds. Someone who’d rather understand a subject properly than fake their way through it.
Professional, organised, and self-aware about how they come across on a call. Driven by what’s next, not what’s comfortable. Resilient enough to keep their edge through the parts of the job that involve repetition and rejection.
You don’t need a technical or cyber background — that will be taught. What matters is that you’re sharp, professional, genuinely ambitious, and committed to building a career in sales. If you’ve already chosen sales as your path and want a route into one of the highest-earning specialisms there is, this is it.
Genuine training that turns you into a skilled salesperson, not a script-reader. Mentoring from people who’ve built successful careers in the sector. A structured, transparent path from SDR to Account Executive and beyond. Uncapped commission paid monthly. Share options potential as you progress. And entry into a booming, future-proof industry where the earning ceiling is genuinely high for people who put the work in.
If you’ve read this far and recognised yourself, send your CV. We’ll have a proper conversation, not a screening call.
