This role is with one of the most established and respected manufacturers operating in the UK electrical market.
The business is privately owned, part of a wider group, and has built its reputation on quality products, strong margins, and long-standing relationships with contractors and merchants nationwide. It is financially secure, well run, and known for treating its people extremely well.
This is the kind of organisation where careers are built. Staff turnover is low, progression is real, and many of the longest-serving people are also among the best paid in the industry. Those who join tend to stay.
Following a significant product range relaunch, the business is strengthening its Scottish sales team as part of a long-term growth plan.
This role will suit experienced electrical sales professionals who already understand how the electrical supply chain works and are comfortable working with both contractors and merchants.
You may currently be working for an electrical wholesaler or a manufacturer, or have previous experience selling directly into electrical contractors. What matters most is your ability to build credibility, manage relationships professionally, and represent a quality brand.
You are likely to be someone who values stability, autonomy, and working for a business that takes a long-term view of its people and its market.
If you are an experienced electrical salesperson and quietly questioning whether your current employer offers the stability, support, and long-term prospects you want, this is an opportunity worth serious consideration.
This is not a turnaround role, and it is not a response to decline. It is a planned hire into a strong, well-established business that is investing in products, people, and market share.
The role offers a rare combination of security and ambition: the backing of a top-tier manufacturer, a refreshed product range to take to market, and the autonomy to run your territory properly without excessive internal pressure.
As Area Sales Manager, you will take ownership of an established territory across Scotland, with most activity focused around the Central Belt.
The role is relationship-led and field based, centred on developing strong partnerships with electrical merchants and working directly with electrical contractors to support product choice, application, and ongoing usage.
This is not a cold new business position. Success comes from being present in the market, adding value to customers, and helping them choose this brand more often through service, reliability, and technical support.
Key responsibilities include:
• Managing and developing established electrical merchant accounts
• Supporting electrical contractors with product selection and technical input
• Increasing usage of the product range through consistent relationship management
• Introducing and embedding a newly revamped product portfolio
• Working closely with internal technical and commercial teams
• Managing your territory autonomously within a grown-up, low-bureaucracy culture
