Our client is a well-established UK manufacturer with a strong national presence and a clearly defined contractor and merchant route to market. The business operates with a structured specification and contractor split model, ensuring that design-stage influence is actively converted into delivered sales.
Scotland represents a significant opportunity. While under-served locally at specification level, the region benefits from long-standing, highly proactive contractor and merchant sales teams who consistently drive results and execute effectively.
This is a priority appointment.
We are seeking an experienced specification sales professional who can establish presence quickly and operate with credibility.
You will already understand:
• Long-cycle project influence
• Technical design conversations
• Structured territory planning
• Relationship-led specification development
You will be commercially sharp, confident presenting to professional audiences and motivated by measurable performance.
This role will not suit someone new to specification selling. It requires experience, energy and the ability to operate independently across a full regional territory.
This is a pure specification sales position focused on influencing architects and consultants across Scotland.
You will be responsible for building relationships at concept and technical design stage, delivering CPDs, supporting live schemes and developing a structured, measurable specification pipeline.
Once projects are written into drawings, the downstream contractor and merchant teams take responsibility for commercial conversion. Your focus remains on upstream influence and territory growth.
Key responsibilities include:
• Delivering CPDs across key Scottish practices
• Influencing specification decisions at design stage
• Managing project tracking and pipeline visibility
• Developing strategic relationships within architectural and consultant practices
• Working in close alignment with contractor and merchant sales colleagues
This is not a hybrid contractor/spec role. It is a dedicated design-stage position with clear accountability.
